Prepare!

Section 2

By following this plan you and your family are going to know how to prepare the basic foods for health and well being; grains, beans, seeds, nuts, fruits and vegetables. If you set up your daily menu using our system and our recipes, and start serving these foods to your household, you and your family will go through the physical changes that take place in the body and be accustomed to eating these foods long before a crisis comes. Your immune systems will be stronger, your overall health will improve, your cholesterol levels will drop, your energy levels will skyrocket and your weight will begin to drop off naturally. You will also see a marked reduction in your grocery spending and see your groceries list begin to change to include items like a 50 lb bag of grain or a 25 lb bag of beans. This is the cheapest and most nutritious way to shop!

What are some examples of the natural disasters that may cause a food shortage or other reason for needing a store of food in your home? Answer: Earthquakes, hurricanes, plagues, famines, pestilences, terrorist attacks, biological warfare, droughts, floods, water contamination and the pandemic flue are some of the disasters that wise counselors are telling us to prepare for.

If you live in a safe place where none of these disasters are likely to take place, you then have another kind of emergency to think about. Where will those who are evacuating go? They will be looking for a safer place to bring their families. If you live in a safe place, people may quite possibly be coming in droves to where you live! They might be injured, scared and in need of comfort, but they most definitely will be hungry and thirsty and in need of the life sustaining food and water that you have thoughtfully stored in your home storage.

An important part of your own preparation for possible disasters in the future will be to encourage other people to get prepared as well. It isn’t smart to be the only one who is ready and able to lend a hand in a crisis. As you learn how to prepare yourself, you would be wise to teach others to do the same. Each person that is not prepared becomes a mouth to feed if and when a time of crisis comes. I believe that each one of us should take it upon ourselves during this time of plenty to gather our food storage, learn how to use it and inspire and teach others to do the same. Food is the one investment that will keep its value no matter how the economy fluctuates.

I hear so many people say that they have “no money” to invest in home storage. This is because the foods they eat in their daily menu will not store well. They are accustomed to eating meat and dairy products that must be refrigerated and fruits and vegetables that have a short shelf life. The first step in finding the budget for home storage is to begin to eat whole foods that store well such as grains and beans. Then you can spend your monthly food bill on food items that will build up your one year supply, your health and your peace of mind.

Good luck and God bless you as you take steps to include whole foods in your daily menu. I promise as you do that you will have abounding energy that you never had before and improved concentration that you never thought possible. Because you are making sure that you and your family are accustomed to eating whole foods, you will be able to claim the promise that you will run and not be weary, walk and not faint and your immune systems will be strong enough to resist the “destroying angel” as it passes over your household.
